2026-2027

Arts + Culture Club

Another student should join this program because it offers insight into the broad world of arts and culture that some wouldn’t think to look into themselves. Before joining, I was a person who never went to museums or anything of the sort, but now I’ve gained a sense of inspiration, interest, and enthusiasm about them.

In this program, you'll explore the city by visiting various arts and culture spaces, sometimes meeting the people who help run them. Or we may meet an artist who will share their art practice and maybe even lead a workshop. There’s also some art-making sprinkled throughout the sessions.

Along the way, you'll see what creative careers look like, discover parts of Los Angeles and Southern CA you may not have known existed, learn about its history, and get a real sense of the surrounding arts and culture scene.

  • "It really does expand your view on the connections between the history of a location and what it's inspired. So much is connected throughout time, it's crazy."

  • "Students should join Greetings because it has something for everyone. Whether you're into painting, mixed media, sculptures, film, photography, or don't even have any particular interest in the world of art, there is always something that you'll see that will stand out and speak to you. Plus, food and transportation is free!!"

  • "This program helped me more than I could've imagined. I'm a very shy and anxious person, and I previously never participated in clubs like this out of fear. Instead, I was met with kindness and community that I didn't expect... This program made me realize I shouldn't let fear dictate my decisions anymore."

  • "Many teenagers like me don't fully know the city we live in, this program showed me many fun places I didn't even know of."

  • "Other students should join this program because it gives you the time and resources to be in art spaces and gives you experience. As high schoolers we already have so much on our plate, so being in a program that is about being surrounded by art is really nice."
